Celia's fundraising
Celia and her family have continuously faced economic hardship. Recently, their financial situation has worsened, resulting in a seemingly insurmountable amount of debt. The family’s financial difficulties are primarily the result of treatment for Celia’s deaf grandson, Johan. His condition has required costly surgeries, rehabilitation sessions, a variety of therapies, repairs to his cochlear implants, and other expensive procedures. Other factors contributing to the debt include insurance-related fees, health complications, transportation issues, loss of employment, and difficulties within the family structure.
With the income that Celia and her sisters earn working at Hridaya school in Mazunte (Oaxaca, Mexico), they take care of their entire extended family, financially supporting 9 children and 7 grandchildren.
This work is to support a fundraising campaign.
